Join us to help raise awareness for the Fashion Revolution cause by making a quilted community banner.
Fashion Revolution was founded in the wake of the Rana Plaza disaster in 2013, Fashion Revolution has become the world’s largest fashion activism movement, mobilising citizens, industry and policymakers through research, education and advocacy work.
Banners are more than objects, they are vehicles to spread messages and ideas.
From union workers to the Suffragette movement, banners have long been used as tools for change-makers, activists and communities in need of a voice.
Banner-making is by tradition a communal activity, meant to bring like-minded people together around an issue. The process is an opportunity to take time for reflection and provoke discussions around causes which are dear to our hearts such as sustainability in the textile industry.
During this workshop participants are invited to join us between 1pm and 5pm in creating a portion of a communal banner out of damaged, discarded clothing.
